How it works

What are

Fotona ClearSteps® Laser for Men?

Very common in men, onychomycosis is often triggered by sports, closed-toe shoes, or micro-traumas. At Medispa Physimed, ClearSteps® laser treatment offers a non-invasive medical solution. Light energy destroys the fungus through uniform heating of the nail and nail bed, without excessive pain or damage to the surrounding healthy skin.

What does laser treatment for nail fungus consist of?

It is a purely medical, non-invasive procedure that uses a precise laser beam (like the Fotona laser) to target and eliminate the fungal infection located in and under the nail, without surgery or oral medication.

Is the laser treatment painful?

The treatment is very well tolerated and requires no anesthesia. Discomfort is considered low; you will generally only feel a mild localized sensation of heat as the laser passes over the infected area.

How long does a session last and how many will I need?

A treatment session lasts approximately 15 to 30 minutes. For optimal results and to avoid reinfection, a full protocol generally recommends between 3 and 4 sessions.

Should I expect downtime after my appointment?

No recovery time is needed. Since the treatment does not damage the surrounding healthy skin, you can resume all your normal activities, including sports, immediately after your visit.

When will I be able to see my new healthy nail?

Results appear slowly and gradually. Although the fungus is treated, the complete regrowth of a smooth, clear, and strong nail plate generally takes 12 to 18 months, depending on your nails' natural growth rate.

Do I need to see a doctor before starting treatment?

Yes, a prior medical evaluation by the team is required. This initial consultation allows for a full clinical examination to confirm the diagnosis of onychomycosis and rule out other potential conditions.

Are there special precautions to take between sessions?

It is crucial to maintain strict foot hygiene and follow the preventive recommendations provided by the medical team to avoid cross-reinfection during the healing and regrowth process.
